
Eric Novak is a multi-talented media professional and the principal of Eric Novak Media. He provides media consulting services related to public and media relations, marketing, and communications. Eric actively works as a consultant, video producer, multi-platform content creator, host, writer, and blogger. He is also chief creator and producer of The Novak Report, a successful YouTube channel featuring automotive and travel reviews, sustainability tips, product reviews and more.
Consistent with his passion for inspiring youth, since 2014 Eric has taught as a part-time business professor at Seneca Polytechnic in Toronto. His course roster includes post graduate Sustainable Urban Development, Sustainability Marketing and Communications and undergraduate courses in sustainability, marketing, digital communications, customer service and entrepreneurship.
Eric is a nationally recognized public speaker and has presented talks and seminars on topics that relate to his profession and his passions such as marketing, communications, eco-friendly vehicles, culinary tourism, and media relations. He has also been trained by both Al Gore and Dr. David Suzuki to deliver a version of the slide show presentation featured in the movie An Inconvenient Truth on behalf of Mr. Gore to Canadians. Since being first trained in 2008, Eric has presented to almost 40,000 Canadians in several provinces about Global Climate Change. He has spoken at such prestigious events such as a TEDx Conference, Michelin Movin’On, and the Greening Government Conference. Eric has also been invited to speak as a guest lecturer and keynote speaker in Europe and the United States.
Honoring his commitment to community activism, Eric is the recipient of the 2022 Ajax Civic Award. In recognition of the creation of Durham Region Eats, he was awarded the 2021 Pickering Civic Award for Economic Development, as well as the 2020 Ajax Mayor’s Award for Business Excellence. Additionally, Eric was awarded the 2014 Sustainability Champion Award from the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade for his ongoing advocacy of the environment and sustainability.
Eric is one of Canada’s few dedicated eco and family-focused automotive journalists. He was a co-creator of the Canadian Green Car Award. As an eco-auto expert Eric has made hundreds of appearances on programs such as CP24’s Autoshop, Breakfast Television and is called upon by news organizations for expert insights on relevant news items. His YouTube channel has close to 11,000 subscribers and includes hundreds of video reviews.
Among his list of corporate clients, Eric acts as Public Relations Lead for Trail Hub in Uxbridge, ON, a multi-faceted outdoor recreation, sports and corporate events facility situated on 250 acres and set atop the highest elevation in southern Ontario. It is a growing destination attraction for tourism in northern Durham Region with plans to include overnight accommodation in the next few years.
